Your tour in detail
Your guide will meet you at your Hanoi hotel bright and early, then set off for Ba Be National Park. We’ll cruise along Highway 3, passing through Thai Nguyen City where we’ll stop for a tasty local lunch, and enjoy a comfortable five‑hour drive.
Upon arriving at Ba Be, we’ll continue on foot along the winding Nang River until we reach Puông Cave, nestled in a Dao ethnic village. From there the hike carries us deeper into thick rainforest, where you can keep an eye out for the area’s wildlife. The trek culminates at a summit that offers breathtaking panoramic views of the countryside below.
Next, we’ll visit a few Hmong villages before arriving at our main destination—a Dao ethnic‑minority village. You’ll be welcomed by a host family who invites you to help prepare a traditional dinner cooked over an open fire, paired with locally brewed corn wine. (If cooking isn’t your thing, no worries—the activity is completely optional.) After the meal, you’ll spend the night in a traditional Dao house, experiencing authentic local hospitality.

Afterward we’ll set off on a 10 km hike to a Hmong village, where you’ll visit the village school and spend time playing with the children. Our guide usually brings sweets, pens and notebooks as little gifts that light up the kids’ faces. A simple, tasty picnic lunch will be enjoyed together at the school.
Post‑lunch we’ll tackle another 10 km trek to Coc Tóc village. The final stretch is a bit demanding, offering a good workout for anyone not in peak shape. Along the way we’ll cross Coc Tóc Stream, where local fishermen ply their nets—perfect for a short rest and a refreshing dip.
When we reach Coc Tóc, you’ll check in at Mr. Linh’s family‑run guesthouse, a traditional Tay stilt house known for its delicious, authentic home‑cooked meals. Enjoy dinner with the family and settle in for an overnight stay, soaking up the warm hospitality of the village.
