Serene place to watch the world go by - staff who go above and beyond This is a really lovely, serene place to visit - rather off the beaten track (it's 5 hours by road from both Hanoi and Ha Giang) which has (so far) preserved it from a mass explosion of tourism. The hotel is spacious and we had a second floor room with an enormous floor to ceiling window so we could see the lake at all times - we also had a verandah so could sit out and watch the lake. There are butterflies everywhere and the lodge supplies free kayaks so we went out for an hour and were the only people on the lake other than local fishermen. Huan and the team work exceptionally hard to cater to guest needs. They arranged a full day tour for us on the lake, going to a waterfall, eating lunch at a local village and visiting an island with a pagoda and swimming from the boat. It is a bit expensive by local standards (at $79 each, maybe the most expensive trip we did in Vietnam which did not involve a lot of driving) but it was great - our guide was particularly knowledgeable! Note that this is not a developed place - next to our gorgeous hotel was a construction site/rubbish tip and there are no shops or restaurants really. You can hire bikes and local guides to take you walking and we just wandered into the jungle ourselves following a well trodden trail. Huan also modified the meals (which are set the same for everyone) because we don't eat meat and the quality was very high - everything cooked fresh to order.

Great place 🙂 We really enjoyed our stay at Ba Be Jungle House. We recommend others to stay here. The area is worth a visit and off the beaten track in Vietnam. We did a one day hiking trip with Huan (staff at Be Ba Jungle House). It was the best! If you are going to stay here please book him. He is such a kind and knowledgeable guide and shared a lot of stories and facts from the area and local people. He took us on paths we would never be able to walk on our own. And we met local people and beautiful nature throughout the whole trip. Huan took extremely good care of our kids (4 and 7 years old) all day and made sure the walk was enjoyable and safe for all four of us. Thank you so much Huan for a great day! It was the best day we had in Vietnam 🙂 (the photos are all from the hiking trip)

3 nights in Ba Be National Park They arranged to pick us up at the airport for the nearly 4 hour drive to the homestay. Our room was very clean and comfortable. Huan and the staff were very friendly and took all of our bags to our room then had dinner ready for us in about a half an hour. The food here was very good. Breakfast and dinner were included. We spent 3 nights here. Dinner was always more than we could eat. Usually 5-6 dishes of chicken, pork, multiple vegetables, fish and fruit. Breakfast was a mix of delicious crepe-like pancakes, eggs, pho, bahn mi and fruits. The fruits here were all delicious. Bottles of delicious jungle-sourced honey were provided along with great tea and coffee. The pool was beautiful and super clean. For activities I did an amazing 15km trek with Huan through the Ba Be National Park. Amazing scenery and some challenging terrain mixed in. We ate fruit off the trees, trekked through a couple small villages and navigated rice fields passing water buffalo, wild chickens, pigs and a variety of local insects along the way.The trail was not always obvious with some overgrown sections and paths that didn’t even seem like they were a trail mixed in. It was a real adventure. I could have never navigated this alone. Huan had a nice picnic lunch in his pack for us along the way including roast pork, rice, egg, and local peanuts. The jungle was beautiful and very authentic. Big thanks to Huan for an excellent trek to kick off my first day. On day 2 we took a motorboat tour around Ba Be lake with our very friendly tour guide Trung and boat captain Vuong. We made village and temple stops along the way. Ba Be National Park is beautiful and should not be missed when exploring northern Vietnam. Thank you for an unforgettable experience. ~Chris and Jaque.

A day in the mountains and hiking across rice terraces We had a whole day hiking with glorious views of the mountains. We saw many people on the way who greeted us friendly and our guide told us a lot about the country, the people, plants and animals, which was very interesting and educational. A great sporty and beautiful experience!

Amazing location, wonderful homestay Small hotel/ homestay on the lake. Magical peaceful setting. Taken across the lake by boat to it from our minibus drop off which was very special. Lovely staff who couldn’t do enough for us, always trying to help and spot what we wanted. Food was wonderful and so generous. They easily accommodated my vegetarian diet. Room was basic but nice; comfortable bed and pillows, cleaned and new bedding after 2 days. Walls very thin to the next room . We did 2 organised trips: full day guided boat trip around the lake with short hike through a local village and fields, cave , waterfall, lunch, island temple and island lake. Highly recommend this it was wonderful. Then guided trip to Tham Phay caves which was utterly incredible. Reasonably tough hike up to it but so worth it. The guides we had were all local, booked by the homestay and really fantastic. We also used the free bicycles to go to Hua Ma caves: 240m of steps up to it but amazing and we had it all to ourselves. We really enjoyed our stay here.

Not that great Good Afternoon, We are now back from our holiday in your beautiful country. We were looked after very well by Kone but I am extremely disappointed with the poor condition of the Delux room we were given on our first night. There were holes in the wall that were plugged up with tissue, the window did not open and the step into the bathroom was cracked and very sharp. This is not we expect from a hotel. I am offering you the opportunity to put this right before I take the matter further

Great calm down area for our honey moon The Jungle Houses are located directly on the lake and therefore offer a fantastic view. The hotel offers dinner for guests in the evening. We recommend everyone to take advantage of this offer. The food was incredibly tasty and was prepared, among other things, in the outdoor kitchen and around the campfire. Our room had a private bathroom with a hot shower and the bed had a mosquito net. The bed was very comfortable. The whole facility is very well maintained. Boat trips and other tours can be booked directly with the hotel. We sailed to Puong Cave and a temple in about 3 hours and really enjoyed it. An ideal place to relax! Everyone was very friendly and helpful! You really feel like part of the family.

A gem Lovely jungle view, great team that is constantly looking after you, organising hikes and trips and anything one needs. Different room categories available. We have enjoyed must meals outside around the fireplace. Absolutely recommend for visitors to Ba Be National Parc.

Best place to stay in the beautiful Ba Be Lakes Very comfortable, simple rooms with aircon ( hot and cold) & bathrooms, set against the hillside overlooking the lake. Very friendly staff who were able to organise boat trip & great walk with a brilliant, informative guide Toui as well as transport to and from the village. It is a beautiful location & if the weather is good lots of places to relax looking at the great view. It also has a beautiful pool.
